Brownie's Laos Motorcycle Tours

Welcome to Brownie's Laos Motorcycle Tours. I am an expat fluent in the Laos language which means I can show you "Laos through Laos eyes" on anything from a Honda Wave (the way Laos people see Laos) to a Honda Baja 250cc. We see ourselves as purveyors of dreams. We want to show you the real Laos. We want to show you the meaning of borpenyang. You will be surprised! where a Honda 100cc or Suzuki 110cc can go. Don't believe in those who say you need a big off road bike to see Laos. We've managed to go from Saisomboun to the Plain of Jars on a Suzuki 110cc Smash as have many Laos people. Once you say you can't do something you have already been defeated.

Advantages of smaller bikes are lower fuel consumption, suitable for novices, easily repairable in small villages.

We usually do not use anything bigger than a Honda Baja 250cc because we want to ride Laos like the Laos do, not like aliens from outer space. We want to be part of the environment, not separate ourselves from the environment.

We believe travel should be an organic experience appreciating the natural surroundings, stopping on the way and interacting with the Laos and the many ethnic minorities. We just can't support A to B sterile trips that only consist of landmarks and concocted shows that dishonour these proud cultures and people.

We are a small independent company so feel we can better show you the real Laos. Engaging people in their everyday lives is something we can offer. We believe this interaction is what makes you feel you really have left home.

We know Laos so book your tour with confidence. Going back to dreams, it is our wish that in time you will discover the meaning of "Borpenyang" = (There is no why) Similar to the Spanish "Manyana" but without the urgency. If you do your life will be very much the better.

Please email ridelaos@gmail.com for a detailed itinerary of our tours or send us your own itinerary. All meals and accommodation included.
